In earlier work we modelled the brain as a porous elastic medium containing an incompressible fluid. In this talk, I will discuss the use of quasilinear viscoelasticity theory in modelling the brain. The aim in both these approaches is to be able to eventually predict the ventricular wall configuration in shunted hydrocephalus which would be of practical use and relevance to the neurosurgeon.
